Where do you get your protein?
This is the question asked by many, in response to the raw vegan diet suggestion. It's a very fair question, given the media exposure of high protein diets. This question is answered simply and brilliantly by a raw vegan elite athlete runner in this video:

Linus Pauling, PhD winner of two Nobel prizes said, “All diseases of humanity can be attributed to the lack of minerals in our bodies. You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment, to a mineral deficiency.” Mineral deficiency is another way of saying malnourishment. In fact, the vast majority of the western population is terribly malnourished. Ironically there is an inverse correlation between the health and the wealth of nations. The wealthier the country, the less healthy the population. The wealthy nations have the highest incidents of heart disease, cancer and diabetes, as demonstrated in Fuhrman’s Eat to Live chart. The poorer nations are the healthiest because they eat the cleanest, least processed food with the highest proportions of raw plant food.

The power of green smoothies
Detailed research has shown that the single most deficient aspect of most peoples diets is the lack of tender raw leafy greens ie kale, spinach, silverbeet etc. The simplest ways to consume the large amounts of these greens that we need (and are biologically designed for) is to whip up some delicious green smoothies in your blender. Blend roughly half greens with half sweet fruits (like bananas and oranges for example) and some water. And voila! The quickest, easiest and most nutritious breakfast you can imagine.
